Nora Faber Overvoorde
Layered mix media on clay board inspired by personal reflection, faith and worship experiences. Nora's process of painting creates a base of acrylic mixes, matte medium, salt and sand. When these elements are dry they become a foundation for her revelatory rubbing technique using oils. Additional depth is added via additive and removal techniques; etching, painting into the work, collaging in natural elements such as coral, preserved plant life, etc.
Each piece she creates leaves an open canvas for the viewer's self projection of their own faith, life experiences and emotions. Nora speaks of creating
