Sherry grew up with an obsession with coloring book and crayons.Coloring on the porch all day was Sherry's idea of a perfect day. Her fascination with colors never faded. Sherry began painting in oils in her 20’s and has been painting in oils, watercolors, acrylics and oil pastels for 40 years now. She is a self-taught artist and currently enjoys creating abstracts utilizing acrylics, silicone and mediums along with fire. Sherry lived in several places including Japan as her husbands served in the US Navy.As they traveled around she was able to experience many exciting places that stimulated her visually and inspired her art. Sherry earned a BS in Business Management and has worked in many areas including banking in Japan, a maquiladora in Mexico and insurance in California. She currently resides in Holland, MI. Aside from creating art, she enjoys spending her time reading and with family and friends.It is important to her to be continually experimenting and finding innovative ways to express herself through art. She believes it is equally as important to spend life loving others and living graciously.
