Ginkgo leaves, each with a unique shape, size and color drift dramatically down. Walking into the gallery one morning, Carrie found hundreds of unique leaves in the grass under the Ginkgo trees lining Ninth street in Holland, Michigan. The leaves inspired a collection of paintings, beginning with realistic renditions and then moving to this magnified version in deep autumn colors on a dramatic dark background.
