Mary was introduced to art early on in life. Her mother and her two sisters were artists and both Mary and her cousins spent many hours drawing anything and everything. After a business degree from Hope College, she spent 30 years in the corporate environment, retiring in 2007. Prior to retiring, she began taking art classes whenever she could fit them in. Watercolor, acrylics and finally oils! She was hooked! Her original goal was to paint her 9 beautiful grandchildren. Then she discovered that when you enter the world of painting, you see the creation around you in a completely different way. She said, "It’s like your eyes are opened to a new way to view color, texture and light, and you want to paint everything!" She loves Gods creation and hopes to capture just a piece of that beauty on her canvas
