There was a sense of restfulness and community in this version of the series on Macatawa bay. The low summer light was warm and caressing as it flowed across the scene. The boats were spaced with comfortable distance from each other, as were the cottages in the background. I found it interesting how some boats were in the brilliant light and others in the shadows, as is seen amongst the cottages in the background. It reminds me of the summer community that comes here each summer season to enjoy this corner of the lake. Some prefer to remain quiet in the shadows and some in the light. They may not know each other and socially remain a comfortable distance from one another; yet they remain a community held in common by appreciation of the summer days they've spent here.
